is_string() function

The is_string() function is used to check whether a variable is a string or not. The function returns true if the variable is a unicode or binary string, otherwise false.

Syntax:

is_string (var_name)

Parameters:

*Mixed : Mixed indicates that a parameter may accept multiple (but not necessarily all) types.
