MongoDB Comparison Query Operator - $ne

Description

In this page, we are going to discuss the comparison operator $ne (not equals). The $ne (not equals) operator is used to retrieve every document from a collection except for the specific ones that match certain criteria.

(<>, !=) not equal to - $ne

Our database name is 'myinfo' and our collection name is 'testtable'. Here, is the collection bellow.

MongoDB (<> , != ) not equal to - $ne

If we want to fetch documents from the collection "testtable" which contains the value of "age " is not equal to 19, the following mongodb command can be used :

>db.testtable.find({age : {$ne :19}})

N.B. find() method displays the documents in a non structured format but to display the results in a formatted way, the pretty() method can be used.

Sql equivalent command is

WHERE age <>19;
